blinded by the light

a request to portland drivers from a cyclist:

please don’t stop at intersections when you don’t have a stop sign, particularly if there are multiple lanes of traffic and/or traffic goes both ways. i understand that you are trying to be helpful by letting me cross, but to minimize confusion/frustration/potential accidents, please just follow traffic laws. i’ll cross the street when it’s safe, i promise.
